Steel cargo — whether hot-rolled coils, plates, structural profiles, pipes or beams — represents high-value goods that require careful handling at every stage of sea transportation. Our “Steel Cargo Survey” service provides professional supervision from pre-loading at the port, through loading, stowage and lashing onboard, to discharge at final destination. We ensure the actual condition of cargo matches the condition declared in shipping documents.

Steel products are vulnerable to damage, rust, or deformation due to moisture, salt water, incorrect stowage or impact. If such defects are not identified prior to loading, they may lead to costly claims, insurance disputes or financial losses at discharge. Independent survey before shipment and during loading ensures legal and commercial protection for both cargo owners and carriers. It also helps prepare accurate mate’s receipts and bills of lading.

At Kuzey Marine Survey, our experienced surveyors carry out end-to-end inspection and monitoring for steel shipments. We inspect the cargo in the storage yard for packaging, markings, visible flaws; supervise stowage plans, dunnage and lashing during loading; and document all observations with photos and detailed reports.
